For three decades and counting, Green Mountain Bonsai Society has assembled outstanding displays of club members’ trees to share with the public at the Champlain Valley Exposition. The exhibit is a judged event for GMBS members who enjoy the incentive of putting on a real “show” and includes informally presented bonsai for those who do not. Both categories are incredibly valuable. The overall show is a context to educate about bonsai as a local hobby, a unique horticultural practice AND a living art form. Our Vermont club exhibition is a super popular exhibit with Fair goers, and a chance for members to contribute as a group toward appreciation for and education about our shared enthusiasm for everything “little trees”.
